If you're a student of culture, a number of things have likely piqued your curiosity; like why so many modern people get drunk about ancient religous stuff.

Sometimes people think that, because I write this column for peanuts, I am somehow also available for free science consulting services.

It's not often you can boil down complicated abstract ideas of science or culture into simple concepts everyone can understand. Gems like "for every reaction there is an equal and opposite reaction" don't come along every day. But every time someone asks me what science is …

I'm taking a moment away from crafting "Journey To The Center Of The Uterus", my opus on reproduction and culture, to discuss something of equal import - namely, orgasms.

Scientists like order and structure and methodology. Repeatability is even better, though that often requires additional grant funding. It's no different when it comes to weekends, bars and picking up science groupies.

I am, I confess, among the most boring men in my family. In a family lineage that includes war heroes, riverboat gamblers, inventors, crusaders and even a guy named King Arthur, I instead write science humor on the interwebs. Not much to brag about.

There is a good reason most Americans stink at chess - our unfailing optimism.

In case you've been canoodling with your own supermodel and not reading this blog, you may not know that the Large Hadron Collider(LHC) is due to go online.(1) Or is it? No one can really be certain.

I was puttering around the attic of the Cashominium, trying to sort through some old boxes, and I came across something you all might find interesting. Before any of this makes sense, I need to give you a little family background.

Sure, I have done a lot of unnatural things in my time but I always thought it would be, you know, dismissed as good-natured boys-being-boys type stuff. Turns out I was wrong. Mother Nature doesn't like unnatural stuff and she was just picking her spot.

When President George Bush announced in 2004 that he wanted to reinvigorate space exploration, he presented a number of arguments for increasing funding but they were all rather tepid. Space exploration technology, for example, led to CAT scans and MRIs.

We spent Part I discussing Bionic Women on TV and speculating as to why they spent $55 Million on Jaime Sommers in the show but couldn't fix actress Michelle Ryan's chin.

We all know that if there's one thing certain to happen to professional tennis players who get hurt in skydiving accidents, it's that a clandestine para-military organization will swoop in and replace the now defective natural parts with über-awesome cybernetic ones.

I saw a few articles discussing an upcoming convergence between robot and human culture based on research by Netherlands student David Levy, who completed his PhD on the subject of human-robot relationships. Using the Artificial Intelligence ( A.I.

Who knew that the sex lives of African bat bugs could be so interesting? Males with female genitalia, female bugs with 'paragenitals' on their abdomens that guide the males to the right spot by basically impaling them if they mess up, males trying to impregnate males.

"You're the most sexiest man on Newsvine," Kymlee said. Well, I was a little embarrassed by that. Granted, that's all a matter of personal taste but there was some pretty stiff competition. "I'm not even the sexiest man in this room," I said sheepishly.

There's a war that's brewing and you may not be aware of it. It's right under our noses but it has been kept out of the mainstream media due to a growing web of deniers and obfuscaters who regard misinformation and doubt as allies.

A new novel about Sherlock Holmes or, my favorite, The Saint? No, this really happened in an operating room in St Paul's Hospital, British Columbia. Dr. Alana Flexman, Dr. Stephan Schwarz and Dr. Giuseppe Del Vicario wrote the case report.

Hot new picture. Tremendously fun column. I get an immense amount of pleasure out of reading his work and never, ever commenting. But you should comment so he will keep writing.

Great rollin out to Vinemeet West wit ya bro!

You made me laugh out loud in the office! I nearly got sacked for looking at your vine... but you know what it was so worth it! I am coming back to this vine, job or no job! Thanks man, good stuff!

Can you stop seeding all this boring stuff and start writing more funny stuff with pictures of hot chicks?

You brighten up my day with your tres tres amusing anecdotes, please don't stop! Just brilliant...

The only thing I ever retained from science classes throughout my educational career was that thing about photosynthesis. And that I'm not allowed to use a bunsen burner.
Cash has made science sexy for me. Pretty much the only way to get my attention.

I kid Cash a lot because I know he likes it and can take a joke.
With the possible exception of Killfile I think I've mentioned Cash in more articles and/or stories than anyone else and I do that because it's more fun that way and I know he won't go all "I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die" Cash on me.
Besides, he's a Republican AND witty and has a sense of humor. What more can I ask for than that?
Cash, along with the B-Boys, Nance, Yasmin, VikiBabble and a few others, have made my first few months at Newsvine enjoyable and memorable. Even though I may have, as he noted, written a few things that may be illgegal in some states.

Cash + Newsvine + Science = Funny

Funny and informative, Cash has taught me that pictures of hot chicks count as scientific reports. I also, uh, declare him my protege, because of course I taught him everything he knows and now the student has surpassed the master, and all that good stuff. So any time you see Cash's contributions remember me and my divine influence.
Keep up the good work and articles. Make sure to include lots of pictures.

Cash's humour breaks windows and hard-heads. This guy brought humour to the Vine, now that Zaki went serious (bombs whistling past your head do that to you), and Ansab got photoshopped.

After an early hiccup, Cashblog has quickly become one of my favorite reads. Ok, I'll admit that I hardly ever retain anything he writes, because I'm too busy oogling over the scantily-clad images of women he chooses to accompany his writings.
He's also a great addition to our scientific contingent.
